Ladakh Body Warns Of Agitation If Centre Fails To Present Draft Proposal

The Leh Apex Body (LAB) has warned of an agitation if the Centre does not present a draft proposal for an elected governance model and constitutional safeguards under Article 371 during the upcoming October 15 talks. This meeting is the fifth round between the Centre's sub-committee and civil society groups demanding democratic governance in Ladakh. The talks follow discontent over last year's violence, which resulted in four deaths and over 80 injuries.

लेह एपेक्स बॉडी (LAB) ने चेतावनी दी है कि अगर केंद्र 15 अक्टूबर की आगामी बातचीत में एक निर्वाचित शासन मॉडल और अनुच्छेद 371 के तहत संवैधानिक सुरक्षा के लिए मसौदा प्रस्ताव पेश नहीं करता है, तो आंदोलन किया जाएगा। यह बैठक केंद्र की उप-समिति और लद्दाख में लोकतांत्रिक शासन की मांग करने वाले नागरिक समाज समूहों के बीच पांचवें दौर की बातचीत है। यह बातचीत पिछले साल हुई हिंसा के बाद हुई है, जिसमें चार लोगों की मौत हो गई थी और 80 से अधिक लोग घायल हुए थे।
