SIPs Outperform Indices Amid Market Sluggishness
Economic Times Markets · stocks
Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) in equity funds have shown resilience, delivering positive returns over the past two years even as benchmark indices struggled. Small-cap funds led with average two-year SIP returns of 14.25%, followed by multi-asset allocation funds at 8.51%. Most fund categories, except large-cap funds, outperformed their respective benchmark indices through SIP investments. This performance coincides with a significant 37% rise in monthly SIP contributions from retail investors, reaching Rs 32,297 crore in August 2026.
