Traders Urge Govt To Withdraw UPI Transaction Fee

The Federation of Manufacturers and Traders Associations of Tamil Nadu has appealed to the central government to withdraw the proposed 0.4% fee on UPI transactions exceeding Rs2,000. This fee, set to take effect, would be deducted from merchants' accounts. Traders argue this charge will burden them amidst rising commodity prices and operational costs. They warn that the fee could push merchants and consumers back to cash transactions, potentially impacting business profits significantly.

तमिलनाडु के मैन्युफैक्चरर्स एंड ट्रेडर्स एसोसिएशन ने केंद्र सरकार से 2,000 रुपये से ज़्यादा के UPI ट्रांजेक्शन पर लगने वाले 0.4% शुल्क को वापस लेने की अपील की है। यह शुल्क व्यापारियों के खातों से काटा जाएगा। व्यापारियों का कहना है कि बढ़ती महंगाई और खर्चों के बीच यह शुल्क उन पर बोझ डालेगा। उन्होंने चेतावनी दी है कि इससे व्यापारी और ग्राहक फिर से कैश की ओर जा सकते हैं, जिससे बिज़नेस के मुनाफे पर असर पड़ सकता है।
