Al Jazeera · world

A 2026 Latinobarometro survey reveals that for the first time since 1995, China is perceived as a more positive global influence than the United States in Latin America. 65 percent of respondents across 17 countries viewed China favorably, compared to 57 percent for the US. Support for China has significantly increased since 2020, while US favorability has declined. Despite this, the US still holds a slight edge in overall country favorability ratings. The survey involved over 19,200 interviews.
