Ghaziabad Builder Ordered to Refund Rs 3.7 Lakh to Flat Buyer for Delay

A Ghaziabad consumer commission has ordered a builder to refund Rs 3.7 lakh to a flat buyer due to significant project delays. The buyer had paid Rs 4.05 lakh in 2013 for a flat, with possession promised by January 2020. However, construction only began in late 2017, and the builder failed to deliver. The commission also awarded Rs 15,000 for mental agony and litigation costs. The builder must pay 6% interest on the refund amount from October 2022 until payment, with a higher rate if compliance is delayed.
