Chief Justice of India Surya Kant declined a meeting request from Opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge regarding ongoing protests in Delhi. The CJI stated that discussing the issues, which are already pending before the Supreme Court, would violate the principle of separation of powers. He advised the leaders to approach the Supreme Court through the judicial process instead of an administrative memorandum. The CJI assured that any petition filed would be heard at the earliest opportunity, reiterating the court's commitment to protecting citizens' fundamental rights.
