Manipur Violence: Militants Kill 3, Locals Protest Outside CM's House

Three people were killed and three injured in Manipur on Monday after suspected militants ambushed firewood collectors near the Imphal East-Kangpokpi district border. The attack occurred around 7 am in Kangpokpi district. In protest, angry locals placed two of the victims' bodies outside Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh's residence in Imphal. Police used tear gas to disperse the protesters, leading to road blockades and market closures across the city. This incident adds to the ongoing violence in Manipur since 2023.

सोमवार को मणिपुर में संदिग्ध उग्रवादियों द्वारा इम्फाल ईस्ट-कांगपोकपी जिले की सीमा के पास जलावन लकड़ी इकट्ठा करने वालों पर घात लगाकर हमला करने के बाद तीन लोगों की मौत हो गई और तीन घायल हो गए। यह हमला कांगपोकपी जिले में सुबह करीब 7 बजे हुआ। विरोध स्वरूप, गुस्साए स्थानीय लोगों ने पीड़ितों में से दो के शव मुख्यमंत्री वाई खेमचंद सिंह के इम्फाल स्थित आवास के बाहर रख दिए। पुलिस ने प्रदर्शनकारियों को तितर-बितर करने के लिए आंसू गैस का इस्तेमाल किया, जिससे शहर भर में सड़क अवरुद्ध हो गई और बाजार बंद हो गए। यह घटना 2023 से मणिपुर में जारी हिंसा में एक और कड़ी है।
