Dalit Woman Denied Hospital Admission Due to Caste, Gives Birth on Roadside in UP

A Dalit woman from the Mushar community in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi district was allegedly denied admission to a government hospital due to her caste. The 20-year-old woman, Rani, went into labour and was brought to Maharaja Chet Singh District Hospital. Her family claims hospital staff refused to admit her after identifying her as Musahar. While leaving the hospital, her condition worsened, and she gave birth on the roadside. Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak took serious note, leading to the dismissal of the on-duty doctor and action against other staff.

उत्तर प्रदेश के भदोही जिले की मुशहर समुदाय की एक दलित महिला को कथित तौर पर उसकी जाति के कारण सरकारी अस्पताल में दाखिला देने से मना कर दिया गया। 20 वर्षीय महिला, रानी, को प्रसव पीड़ा हुई और उसे महाराजा चेत सिंह जिला अस्पताल लाया गया। उसके परिवार का दावा है कि अस्पताल के कर्मचारियों ने उसे मुसहर के रूप में पहचानने के बाद भर्ती करने से इनकार कर दिया। अस्पताल से निकलते समय उसकी हालत बिगड़ गई और उसने सड़क पर बच्चे को जन्म दिया। उप मुख्यमंत्री बृजेश पाठक ने इस मामले को गंभीरता से लिया, जिसके कारण ड्यूटी पर तैनात डॉक्टर को बर्खास्त कर दिया गया और अन्य कर्मचारियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की गई।
