Photographs emerged showing her riding on the back of a bicycle near the 38-kilometer mark, violating race rules. She later apologized for hiding the incident and acknowledged her actions were dishonest and disrespectful to the race's fairness. The controversy has led to her removal from official race results and the termination of her partnership with Brooks China, who also apologized for their oversight in vetting her.
