Youngest Planet Ever Found Is Less Than Million

Astronomers have discovered the youngest known planet, Elias 2-24 b, using data from NASA-funded archives. This newly found exoplanet is less than one million years old and orbits the star Elias 2-24, located approximately 450 light-years away. Observations indicate the planet is still embedded within the gas and dust disk from which it formed. Previously, the youngest confirmed planets were at least five million years old, presenting challenges for existing planet-formation models.
