Hindustan Times · environment

Delhi's air quality monitoring network has been expanded to 60 stations, with 13 new sites installed by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee and three by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology. This initiative coincides with the addition of 150 electric buses to the government fleet, bringing the total to 5,238. Five public EV charging stations were also inaugurated to reduce vehicular emissions. These measures are part of the government's strategy to combat the worsening air quality that typically begins in mid-September due to stubble burning and festive fireworks.
