India's cybersecurity watchdog CERT-In has issued a critical warning to the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector regarding an escalating campaign of AI-driven cyberattacks. The threat actor, identified as 'CRAFTY FALCON', uses machine intelligence to identify targets and exploit payment APIs for unauthorized fund transfers. These attacks are sophisticated, even targeting entities that have previously implemented remediation measures. CERT-In has urged all BFSI entities to treat this campaign as an immediate and continuing threat due to its significant escalation and successful ongoing attacks.
