MHADA Can Now Declare Buildings Unsafe

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has been granted the power to declare cessed buildings unsafe. This new authority will streamline the process of identifying and addressing dilapidated structures. Previously, this power was vested with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). This change is expected to expedite repairs and redevelopment of old buildings, particularly in South Bombay, enhancing resident safety and urban renewal efforts.

महाराष्ट्र हाउसिंग एंड एरिया डेवलपमेंट अथॉरिटी (MHADA) को अब से सेस्ड इमारतों को असुरक्षित घोषित करने का अधिकार मिल गया है। इससे जर्जर इमारतों की पहचान और मरम्मत का काम आसान हो जाएगा। पहले यह अधिकार बीएमसी के पास था। इस बदलाव से पुरानी इमारतों, खासकर साउथ मुंबई की इमारतों की मरम्मत और पुनर्विकास तेज़ी से होगा, जिससे लोगों की सुरक्षा बढ़ेगी।
