Karnataka Govt Mandates Night Attendance For Doctors; Other Departments May Follow
Times of India · politics
Karnataka government has made night attendance mandatory for doctors and medical practitioners in taluks and panchayats, following complaints of unavailability. This rule, applicable to contractual employees under the health and family welfare department, requires marking attendance via the Kartavya app after 9 pm daily, ensuring employees remain within a prescribed radius of their office. The initiative, inspired by Upa Lokayukta recommendations, aims to ensure government officials reside at their headquarters and are accessible to the public. If successful, this system will be extended to all other state departments.
