India's Top 10 Companies' Market Share Hits Decade Low Amidst FPI Selling
Economic Times Markets · stocks
India's top 10 listed blue-chip companies have seen their combined market capitalisation share fall to a near decade low of 17.65% as of October 9. This decline is attributed to sustained foreign portfolio investor (FPI) selling and the underperformance of large-cap stocks, with FPIs withdrawing over ₹3 lakh crore since 2026. The market cap of these top 10 firms is now ₹84.84 lakh crore, the lowest since December 2023. Meanwhile, domestic flows have supported smaller companies, increasing their share in the overall market cap.
