Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Condemns Arrest of Farmers Seeking Loan Waivers

Tamil Nadu BJP State President Nainar Nagenthran has condemned the arrest of over 200 farmers in Tiruchi district. The farmers were protesting to demand a waiver of farm loans, as promised in the TVK electoral manifesto. Mr. Nagenthran questioned Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on how detaining protestors would resolve the issue. He highlighted that the government's assurance to waive loans for farmers owning more than five acres was not being fulfilled, leading to the arrests when farmers inquired about it.

तमिलनाडु भाजपा के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष नैनार नागेंद्रन ने तिरुचि जिले में 200 से अधिक किसानों की गिरफ्तारी की निंदा की है। किसान टीवीके के चुनावी घोषणापत्र में वादा की गई कृषि ऋण माफी की मांग को लेकर विरोध प्रदर्शन कर रहे थे। श्री नागेंद्रन ने मुख्यमंत्री सी. जोसेफ विजय से सवाल किया कि प्रदर्शनकारियों को हिरासत में लेने से समस्या का समाधान कैसे होगा। उन्होंने इस बात पर प्रकाश डाला कि पांच एकड़ से अधिक जमीन वाले किसानों के लिए ऋण माफ करने की सरकार की आश्वासन पूरा नहीं किया जा रहा है, जिससे किसानों द्वारा इसके बारे में पूछताछ करने पर गिरफ्तारी हुई।
