Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Faces Charges in Land Scam Case by PMLA Court

A special PMLA court in Ranchi has framed charges against Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in an alleged 8.86-acre land fraud case. ED had filed a money laundering case related to the alleged illegal acquisition and transfer of land in the Bargain Area of the state capital. Soren appeared via video conference before the court, which framed charges under Section 3 of the PMLA. The Jharkhand High Court refused to stay the framing of charges, though it will hear Soren's plea challenging the process.

रांची की एक विशेष PMLA कोर्ट ने कथित 8.86 एकड़ जमीन धोखाधड़ी मामले में झारखंड के मुख्यमंत्री हेमंत सोरेन के खिलाफ आरोप तय किए हैं। ED ने राज्य की राजधानी के बरगैन एरिया में जमीन के कथित अवैध अधिग्रहण और हस्तांतरण से संबंधित एक मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग का मामला दायर किया था। सोरेन वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के जरिए कोर्ट में पेश हुए, जिसने PMLA की धारा 3 के तहत आरोप तय किए। झारखंड हाई कोर्ट ने आरोपों को तय करने पर रोक लगाने से इनकार कर दिया है, हालांकि वह सोरेन की याचिका पर सुनवाई करेगा जिसमें इस प्रक्रिया को चुनौती दी गई है।
