TN, UP Police Nab Youth in Radicalisation Case

Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh anti-terrorism squads arrested a 19-year-old UP resident, Maqsood Ali, in Coimbatore. He is accused of radicalising youth through an online module linked to Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). Ali allegedly developed a secure application and used WhatsApp groups, some with Pakistani numbers, for recruitment. Investigators believe he was part of a conspiracy for violent jihadist activities.

तमिलनाडु और उत्तर प्रदेश एटीएस ने कोयंबटूर में 19 साल के मकसूद अली को पकड़ा है। यह यूपी का रहने वाला है। उस पर आरोप है कि वह अल-कायदा इन द इंडियन सबकॉन्टिनेंट (AQIS) से जुड़े ऑनलाइन मॉड्यूल के ज़रिए नौजवानों को भड़का रहा था। अली ने एक ऐप बनाया था और भर्ती के लिए WhatsApp ग्रुप्स का इस्तेमाल करता था, जिनमें कुछ पाकिस्तानी नंबर भी थे। जांच एजेंसियां मानती हैं कि वह हिंसक जिहादी गतिविधियों की साजिश का हिस्सा था।
