Centre to Form High-Level Committee for Sugarcane Farmers' Issues

The Centre has decided to establish a high-level joint committee within a week to address the grievances of sugarcane farmers from Maharashtra and Karnataka. This decision follows extensive discussions between Union ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Pralhad Joshi and farmer representatives in New Delhi. Farmers are seeking a higher support price and an increase in the minimum selling price of sugar due to rising production costs.

केंद्र ने महाराष्ट्र और कर्नाटक के गन्ना किसानों की शिकायतों को दूर करने के लिए एक सप्ताह के भीतर एक उच्च-स्तरीय संयुक्त समिति गठित करने का निर्णय लिया है। यह निर्णय केंद्रीय मंत्रियों शिवराज सिंह चौहान और प्रह्लाद जोशी तथा किसान प्रतिनिधियों के बीच नई दिल्ली में हुई विस्तृत चर्चाओं के बाद आया है। किसान उत्पादन लागत में वृद्धि के कारण समर्थन मूल्य में वृद्धि और चीनी के न्यूनतम बिक्री मूल्य में बढ़ोतरी की मांग कर रहे हैं।
