Times of India · india
The Andhra Pradesh High Court has ruled that a married daughter cannot be denied compassionate appointment solely on the grounds of her marital status. Justice Balaji Medamalli directed authorities to reconsider the claim of a married daughter of a deceased APSRTC employee, emphasizing that dependency and other conditions are paramount. The court cited a Supreme Court ruling and a government order that allows consideration for married daughters if they are dependent and other family members are unwilling or unable to seek the appointment.
