Kasaragod Solar Park to Feature Battery Storage System

Kerala's 100 MW Kasaragod solar park project will incorporate a battery energy storage system (BESS) in its second phase, a decision made by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). This addition aims to address the state's evening-hour peak demand challenges. The 50 MW/100 MWh BESS will complement existing storage projects by the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). The solar park's phase II, approved in February 2024, is slated for completion by April 6, 2028.

केरल के 100 मेगावाट कासरगोड सोलर पार्क प्रोजेक्ट में दूसरे चरण में बैटरी एनर्जी स्टोरेज सिस्टम (BESS) को शामिल किया जाएगा, यह फैसला Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) ने लिया है। इस सुविधा का मकसद राज्य की शाम के समय की पीक डिमांड की चुनौतियों का समाधान करना है। 50 मेगावाट/100 मेगावाट-घंटा BESS, Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) द्वारा मौजूदा स्टोरेज प्रोजेक्ट्स का पूरक होगा। सोलर पार्क का दूसरा चरण, जिसे फरवरी 2024 में मंजूरी मिली थी, 6 अप्रैल 2028 तक पूरा होने वाला है।
