R Ashwin Slams Selectors Over Yashasvi Jaiswal's ODI Omission

Times of India · sports

Veteran spinner R Ashwin has voiced strong criticism against the BCCI selection committee for excluding young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal from India's ODI squad against New Zealand. Ashwin argued that Jaiswal deserved a chance in the final two matches, especially with Shubman Gill being rested, to maintain his confidence and development. He expressed concern that repeatedly missing out on international opportunities could negatively impact the talented player's rhythm and self-belief. Ashwin stressed the importance of selectors and team management supporting precious talents like Jaiswal by providing opportunities whenever possible.
