Kerala SBI Manager Denied Cruise Trip, Gets Rs 54,500 Payout

A Kerala consumer commission has ordered a holiday company and cruise operator to pay Rs 54,500 with interest to an SBI manager. The manager had paid Rs 29,500 for a family cruise from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi, only to find it cancelled without notice upon arrival. The commission found Plumeria Holidays and Nefertiti Sea Cruise guilty of deficiency in service for failing to inform the complainant. The cruise was cancelled due to a pending mandatory certificate, which was issued a day after the scheduled trip.

केरल के एक उपभोक्ता आयोग ने एक हॉलिडे कंपनी और क्रूज ऑपरेटर को एसबीआई मैनेजर को ब्याज सहित ₹54,500 का भुगतान करने का आदेश दिया है। मैनेजर ने तिरुवनंतपुरम से कोच्चि तक परिवार के साथ क्रूज के लिए ₹29,500 का भुगतान किया था, लेकिन पहुंचने पर बिना किसी सूचना के इसे रद्द पाया। आयोग ने Plumeria Holidays और Nefertiti Sea Cruise को शिकायतकर्ता को सूचित करने में विफल रहने के लिए सेवा में कमी का दोषी पाया। क्रूज को एक लंबित अनिवार्य प्रमाण पत्र के कारण रद्द कर दिया गया था, जो निर्धारित यात्रा के एक दिन बाद जारी किया गया था।
