The Supreme Court has upheld the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, stating it does not conflict with existing laws or the constitutional imperative of fair elections. The court affirmed the Election Commission of India's authority to conduct such revisions. However, the implementation of SIR across various states has sparked concerns about disenfranchisement and due process, with over 13 crore voters excluded nationwide. Many appeals against these exclusions remain pending adjudication.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनावी रोल्स के स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन (SIR) को बरकरार रखा है, यह कहते हुए कि यह मौजूदा कानूनों या निष्पक्ष चुनावों के संवैधानिक आदेश के साथ टकराव में नहीं है। कोर्ट ने ऐसे रिवीजन करने के लिए इलेक्शन कमीशन ऑफ इंडिया के अधिकार की पुष्टि की। हालांकि, विभिन्न राज्यों में SIR के कार्यान्वयन से मतदाताओं को वंचित करने और उचित प्रक्रिया के बारे में चिंताएं बढ़ गई हैं, जिसमें देश भर में 13 करोड़ से अधिक मतदाता बाहर हो गए हैं। इन बहिष्करणों के खिलाफ कई अपीलें अभी भी लंबित हैं।
