Road Accidents Decline, Fatalities Rise in Lucknow Division

Road accidents in Lucknow division decreased slightly between January and August 2026 compared to the previous year, but the death toll saw an increase. Lucknow and Lakhimpur Kheri districts contributed most significantly to the rise in fatalities. The divisional commissioner has directed officials to investigate the causes behind the surge in accidents and deaths in these districts. The committee also reviewed compensation claims and the implementation of cashless treatment for accident victims, noting issues with empanelled hospitals refusing treatment.

लखनऊ में सड़क हादसे घटे, मौतें बढ़ीं

पिछले साल के मुकाबले जनवरी से अगस्त 2026 के बीच लखनऊ डिवीजन में सड़क हादसे थोड़े कम हुए, लेकिन मरने वालों की संख्या बढ़ गई। लखनऊ और लखीमपुर खीरी जिलों में मौतों में सबसे ज्यादा बढ़ोतरी हुई। कमिश्नर ने इन जिलों में हादसों और मौतों की बढ़ती संख्या के कारणों की जांच के आदेश दिए हैं। कमेटी ने घायलों के मुआवजे और कैशलेस इलाज के अमल पर भी बात की, और पाया कि कुछ अस्पताल इलाज करने से मना कर रहे हैं।
