Chief Justice of India Justice Suryakant has refused to meet with opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, who sought an appointment. The leaders intended to discuss issues such as the resignation of the CEC and alleged vote rigging. The CJI declined the meeting citing five key reasons. These include the matters already being sub-judice in the Supreme Court, the court's inability to interfere in administrative functions, and the availability of judicial recourse through petitions.
