Mumbai's newly appointed vice-captain Ayush Mhatre has undergone surgery for a Grade 4 hamstring tear recurrence. The 19-year-old batter had the procedure done by Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Mhatre is expected to be out of action for four months, making him unlikely to play for Mumbai for the remainder of the 2026-27 season. This injury is a significant setback for the talented young player, who was recently named deputy for the Ranji Trophy.
