Jewish heirs of Holocaust victims have filed two lawsuits in California seeking the return of Nazi-looted paintings displayed in Los Angeles and Auschwitz museums. These are the first lawsuits filed after new laws strengthened U.S. claims to artworks stolen during World War II. One suit targets the Norton Simon Museum for Cranach masterpieces, while another demands watercolors forced from a Holocaust survivor at Auschwitz.
