Iran settlement progress should come from regional states

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that progress on resolving the situation around Iran should primarily come from regional states. He noted that the Gulf Cooperation Council states and Iran have agreed to hold a meeting, with Iraq also participating, in Oman soon. Lavrov indicated that some external parties are unhappy with the Persian Gulf littoral states' efforts to establish better relations among themselves.

रूसी विदेश मंत्री सर्गेई लावरोव ने कहा कि ईरान के आसपास की स्थिति को सुलझाने में मुख्य रूप से क्षेत्रीय देशों को आगे आना चाहिए। उन्होंने बताया कि खाड़ी सहयोग परिषद (GCC) के देश और ईरान ओमान में जल्द ही एक बैठक करेंगे, जिसमें इराक भी शामिल होगा। लावरोव ने इशारा किया कि कुछ बाहरी ताकतें फारस की खाड़ी के तटीय देशों के आपसी संबंध सुधारने के प्रयासों से खुश नहीं हैं।
