Alliance Air Pilots Need Stronger Simulator Training, Says AAIB Report

Times of India · india

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has recommended that Alliance Air enhance its simulator training for pilots. This follows a serious incident, where an Alliance ATR aircraft undershot the runway at Bhubaneswar during severe rain, with 47 people on board. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The AAIB report cited inadequate communication and coordination between pilots as contributing factors, leading to ineffective management of deteriorating approach conditions. The bureau also advised special emphasis on pilots with recent operational exceedances, requiring targeted remedial training.
