UP Woman, Daughter Attacked Day After Helping Dalit Family File FIR

A woman and her 12-year-old daughter were allegedly attacked in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, a day after her family assisted a Dalit woman in registering a complaint. The woman claims the village pradhan's sons and associates intercepted their car, smashing windows and attempting to drag her daughter out. She also alleged one attacker tried to strangle her. Police have detained three named individuals and are investigating the incident, which appears to be an act of intimidation for supporting the Dalit family.

उत्तर प्रदेश के रायबरेली में एक महिला और उसकी 12 साल की बेटी पर कथित तौर पर हमला किया गया, जिस दिन उसके परिवार ने एक दलित महिला को शिकायत दर्ज कराने में मदद की थी। महिला का दावा है कि गांव के प्रधान के बेटों और साथियों ने उनकी कार को रोका, शीशे तोड़ दिए और उसकी बेटी को बाहर खींचने की कोशिश की। उसने यह भी आरोप लगाया कि एक हमलावर ने उसे गला घोंटने की कोशिश की। पुलिस ने तीन नामजद लोगों को हिरासत में ले लिया है और इस घटना की जांच कर रही है, जो दलित परिवार का समर्थन करने के लिए डराने-धमकाने का मामला लगता है।
