The Karnataka Cabinet has approved the reorganisation of the Bengaluru police commissionerate into five separate commissionerates, each overseen by a Chief Police Commissioner. This move aims to align policing with the Greater Bengaluru Authority's division of civic administration into five corporations, improving coordination. However, former police officials have raised concerns, questioning the direct replication of civic structures in policing and warning of potential confusion in command and control.
