Uttar Pradesh is commencing construction on its longest expressway, stretching from Gorakhpur to Shamli. This ambitious project aims to significantly reduce travel time, allowing journeys between the two cities in just 7.5 hours. The expressway will traverse 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh, establishing a crucial new link between the eastern and western parts of the state. Land acquisition is currently underway, with the National Highways Authority of India having already received quotations for nine out of twelve construction packages.
