India's foreign exchange reserves saw a significant decline of $14.9 billion, falling to $765.9 billion in the week ending. This decrease was primarily attributed to a drop in foreign currency assets, which constitute the largest portion of the reserves. While gold reserves saw a slight increase, other components like special drawing rights and IMF reserves also decreased. This dip follows a period of substantial accumulation, though reserves remain higher year-on-year and since March 2026. The fall may be linked to the RBI selling dollars to support the rupee.

इस हफ़्ते भारत के विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार में $14.9 अरब की बड़ी गिरावट आई है, जो अब $765.9 अरब रह गया है। मुख्य कारण विदेशी मुद्रा संपत्तियों में कमी है। सोने के भंडार में थोड़ी बढ़ोतरी हुई, लेकिन विशेष आहरण अधिकार (SDR) और IMF भंडार घट गए। यह गिरावट पिछले कुछ समय से जमा हो रहे भंडार के बाद आई है, हालांकि साल-दर-साल और मार्च 2026 से भंडार ज़्यादा ही हैं। यह गिरावट रुपये को सहारा देने के लिए RBI द्वारा डॉलर बेचने से जुड़ी हो सकती है।
