Tyre Makers Consider Price Hikes Amid Soaring Rubber Costs
Mint · business
India's tyre manufacturers are facing squeezed profit margins due to a significant increase in natural and synthetic rubber prices. This surge, attributed to erratic weather and the West Asia war, has driven domestic RSS4 rubber prices up by 62% since November 2025. Companies like Ceat and JK Tyres have reported substantial drops in earnings and profit after tax. Despite previous price increases, they have not fully offset the rising raw material expenses, prompting further hikes to be considered.
