'96' Director C Prem Kumar Clarifies Casting, States Trisha Was First Choice

Director C Prem Kumar has clarified that Trisha Krishnan was always his first choice to play the lead role of Jaanu in the critically acclaimed film '96'. Despite reports suggesting Jyotika was initially considered, Kumar stated that Trisha was his undisputed preference from the outset. He explained that scheduling conflicts with Trisha's other projects and the availability of Vijay Sethupathi's dates created pressure to consider other actors. However, Trisha's schedule was eventually adjusted, allowing her to star in the film.
