Flydubai Co-Pilot Planned Suicide Attack on Tel Aviv Airport

The UAE attorney general revealed that a flydubai co-pilot, Hammam Al Hamali, planned a suicide attack to hijack a flight to Tel Aviv and crash it into Ben Gurion Airport. This was his third trip to the city, with previous visits used for planning. The plot was foiled by Indian captain Smit Machchhar, who overpowered the co-pilot. The flight made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia with all passengers safe. Prosecutors believe the 29-year-old suspect acted alone, inspired by the 9/11 attacks.
