Kanpur Man Arrested For Duping Thai Woman, Claims Polygamy Allowed

A man named Mohammad Irfan has been arrested in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly defrauding a woman from Thailand. Irfan confessed to marrying the Thai national, Apsorn, while already having a wife and three children in India, stating his religion permits two marriages. He admitted to hiding his first marriage and taking approximately ₹13 lakh from Apsorn for business purposes. The woman alleges Irfan pressured her to convert to Islam and assaulted her when she discovered his deception and demanded her money back.
