Sivakasi, India's primary fireworks manufacturing hub, generates an estimated annual turnover of ₹7,000 crore, supporting a vast network of workers and businesses. The industry is highly seasonal, with Diwali sales accounting for the majority of its revenue. Beyond manufacturing, the sector includes suppliers, traders, and retailers nationwide. Sivakasi produces about 85 per cent of India's organised fireworks trade. The industry is also adapting to regulatory changes and a shift towards greener cracker alternatives.

भारत का मुख्य पटाखा बनाने वाला केंद्र शिवकाशी, सालाना करीब ₹7,000 करोड़ का टर्नओवर पैदा करता है, जिससे कई मजदूरों और बिजनेसों को सहारा मिलता है। यह इंडस्ट्री बहुत मौसमी है, और दिवाली की बिक्री से ही ज़्यादातर कमाई होती है। मैन्युफैक्चरिंग के अलावा, इस सेक्टर में देशभर के सप्लायर, ट्रेडर और रिटेलर भी शामिल हैं। शिवकाशी भारत के ऑर्गेनाइज्ड पटाखा व्यापार का लगभग 85 प्रतिशत हिस्सा बनाता है। यह इंडस्ट्री रेगुलेटरी बदलावों और ग्रीन क्रैकर के बढ़ते चलन के हिसाब से खुद को ढाल भी रही है।
