Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has challenged Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party to contest elections on ballot paper if their governments in Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana resign. Sarma alleged that these governments were formed through 'vote chori' and that the Congress is resorting to protests due to a lack of public support. He defended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls, stating it is necessary to address demographic changes caused by illegal immigration. Sarma demanded an SIR every five years to protect Indian democracy.
