50-Year-Old Chandigarh ASI Dies By Suicide At Govt Accommodation

A 50-year-old Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) with the Chandigarh Police crime branch allegedly died by suicide at his government accommodation in Sector 42 on Tuesday night. The deceased, Satpal Singh, was a malkhana munshi who had returned home after his shift. His family members, unable to reach him, alerted neighbours who then contacted the police. Officers broke down the door and found the ASI deceased. An inquest has been initiated, with police recording statements from family and colleagues to understand the circumstances.

मंगलवार रात चंडीगढ़ पुलिस की क्राइम ब्रांच के 50 वर्षीय असिस्टेंट सब-इंस्पेक्टर (ASI) ने अपने सेक्टर 42 स्थित सरकारी आवास पर कथित तौर पर आत्महत्या कर ली। मृतक सतपाल सिंह मलकखाना मुंशी थे और अपनी ड्यूटी खत्म करके घर लौटे थे। परिवार वालों ने जब उनसे संपर्क नहीं हो पाया तो पड़ोसियों को सूचित किया, जिन्होंने पुलिस से संपर्क किया। पुलिस अधिकारियों ने दरवाजा तोड़ा और ASI को मृत पाया। पुलिस ने परिवार और सहकर्मियों से बयान दर्ज कर मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी है ताकि परिस्थितियों को समझा जा सके।
