Sebi Bans EKI Energy, MD Dabkara From Market Over Financial Misrepresentation

Markets regulator Sebi has barred EKI Energy Services Ltd and its Managing Director Manish Kumar Dabkara from the securities market for two and 12 months, respectively. The company and its directors are penalized for misrepresenting financial statements and diverting funds. EKI prematurely recognized Rs 197.04 crore in revenue and overstated expenses by Rs 26.34 crore, leading to an understatement of profits. Sebi imposed total penalties of Rs 88 lakh on the company and individuals involved. Dabkara has been directed to recoup the diverted funds.
