A 26-year-old man, Vikrant Kumar alias Vicky Tomar, has been arrested for allegedly defrauding a Delhi Police woman constable of approximately Rs 24 lakh. He initially contacted her on Instagram seeking guidance on police recruitment through the sports quota. The conversation moved to WhatsApp, where he built familiarity and posed as a cricket personality. He then lured her with promises of high investment returns, leading to the alleged fraud. Delhi Police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are investigating to identify other potential victims.

26 साल के विक्रांत कुमार उर्फ विक्की तोमर को दिल्ली पुलिस की एक महिला कांस्टेबल से करीब 24 लाख रुपये की ठगी करने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया है। उसने शुरू में इंस्टाग्राम पर स्पोर्ट्स कोटे से पुलिस भर्ती पर मार्गदर्शन मांगा था। बातचीत व्हाट्सएप पर आगे बढ़ी, जहां उसने जान-पहचान बनाई और खुद को क्रिकेट से जुड़ा व्यक्ति बताया। फिर उसने ऊंचे निवेश रिटर्न का लालच देकर कथित धोखाधड़ी को अंजाम दिया। दिल्ली पुलिस ने भारतीय न्याय संहिता के तहत मामला दर्ज कर लिया है और अन्य संभावित पीड़ितों की पहचान के लिए जांच कर रही है।
