Supreme Court Seeks Response From States On Menstrual Hygiene Implementation

The Hindu · india

The Supreme Court has expressed displeasure over States and Union Territories failing to respond to the Centre regarding the implementation of its judgment that declared menstrual hygiene a part of the fundamental right to life under Article 21. Justices J.B. Pardiwala and R. Mahadevan questioned how the fundamental right would be given effect if judgments remained only on paper. The apex court noted that on September 1, it had directed states and UTs to report on deficiencies, but they have not responded to the Union government.
