Andhra Pradesh HC Orders 50-Year-Old Land Compensation Payment

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has ordered the state to pay compensation to a 72-year-old woman for land acquired nearly 50 years ago. The court found that despite an award being made, the payment never reached the landowner. Authorities have been directed to disburse the original amount with 12% annual interest within two months.

आंध्र प्रदेश हाई कोर्ट ने राज्य सरकार को आदेश दिया है कि एक 72 साल की महिला को करीब 50 साल पहले अधिग्रहित जमीन का मुआवजा दिया जाए। कोर्ट ने पाया कि मुआवजा तय होने के बावजूद यह महिला तक कभी पहुंचा ही नहीं। अधिकारियों को दो महीने के अंदर मूल रकम के साथ 12% सालाना ब्याज का भुगतान करने का निर्देश दिया गया है।
