Electric Cars Can't Run Solely On Solar Power Due To Size, Low Output

TV9 Hindi · automobile

While electric cars are gaining popularity due to low running costs, powering them solely with solar panels faces significant challenges. The primary obstacle is the limited roof space on cars, typically 10-25 square feet, which restricts the number of solar panels that can be fitted. Current solar technology converts only about 20-25% of sunlight into electricity, resulting in a low power output. Although some prototypes are being developed to generate more power, they can only provide enough energy for a limited daily range, making them insufficient for full-time operation.
