Indian Army Signs Deal for Javelin Anti-Tank Missile System After 16 Years

TV9 Hindi · business

The Indian Army has signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) to procure the US-made Javelin anti-tank missile system, marking a significant step in defense cooperation with America. This acquisition comes after approximately 16 years of efforts by the Indian Army to replace its older Konkurs and Milan missiles with modern 'fire and forget' ATGM technology. The deal, expected to be completed via the US Foreign Military Sales route, includes around 100 missile rounds and 25 launch units. This move aims to bolster India's defense capabilities against armored threats.
