Mint · automobile
India is planning to eliminate traditional toll plazas on select national highways by introducing a satellite-based toll collection system. This new system, targeted for implementation by 2028-29, aims to allow motorists to pay tolls based on the actual distance traveled. The transition could eventually enable drivers to pass through toll points without stopping. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize road infrastructure and streamline traffic flow across the country.
