UP CEO Downplays Roll Errors, Affecting Under 150 of 14.8 Lakh Voters

Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa stated that fewer than 150 voters, out of 14.81 lakh registered electors, experienced errors in their electoral roll details. This accounts for less than 0.01% of the total electorate. Rinwa defended the new digital system, implemented for the first time for Graduates' and Teachers' constituencies, which replaced a manual process. He acknowledged that it would take a few days to determine the exact cause of these errors, which could stem from voter applications or data entry.

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी नवदीप रिणवा ने कहा कि 14.81 लाख पंजीकृत मतदाताओं में से 150 से कम मतदाताओं के चुनावी रोल विवरण में गलतियाँ हुईं। यह कुल मतदाताओं का 0.01% से भी कम है। रिणवा ने नए डिजिटल सिस्टम का बचाव किया, जिसे पहली बार स्नातक और शिक्षक निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों के लिए लागू किया गया था, जिसने मैन्युअल प्रक्रिया को बदल दिया। उन्होंने स्वीकार किया कि इन त्रुटियों के सटीक कारण का पता लगाने में कुछ दिन लगेंगे, जो मतदाता आवेदनों या डेटा प्रविष्टि से उत्पन्न हो सकती हैं।
