Supreme Court Issues Notice to ECI, Centre on Plea Challenging CEC's Decisions

The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Central Government regarding a plea that challenges the decision-making process of the poll panel led by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The petitioner alleges that decisions were taken without the approval of the other two Election Commissioners. The court is seeking responses within a week on whether the CEC has been individually exercising powers belonging to the ECI as a whole.
